Here we go again, drivers in a slump;
it's a frightful thing to pull up to the pump.
First it's down, then subtly it's back up;
does the petro industry need a grand checkup?
It's a classical gas, those gas prices are;
those who commute continue to have a scar.
Maybe the lawyers need more money, a subsidy;
too many oil spills, there's gotta be a remedy.
Let's improve the rails, only local truck distribution;
supply and demand, a better situation.
No more joy-riding, that's in the making;
use common sense, it's worth the taking.
Why keep making cars if there's not enough gas;
please don't ever say we've reached an impasse.
Maybe it's a sign, the writing on the wall;
still seems like a game, a real curve ball.
Here we go again, drivers in a slump;
it's a frightful thing to pull up to the pump.
Whether you're coming or going it makes no difference;
there's only one option, humbly pray for deliverance.
