Love sometimes, never dies. Sometimes a near decade and a half can reveal the truth again. When you find an unexpected momento.

It grabbed me today, some 14 years after we parted

Your card which started the Beat again and said:

"Though we can't be together..."

A Valentines card from Someone,  distances away That loved me

And now I visit you again Though not a day has past When your face didn't stare Me in the eye

Not a day when I didn't miss You, lean to you, want you, Remember us

Never did I make love to Another woman not during These 14 years

Like a monk, celibate for Over a decade because I left

A skin that only knew you, Will always know you

Somehow I really got Married to you, but never Gave a vow

A spoken thing

The Spirit is yours

There is no card

Only my missing

I am still married to you in Memory and the delf drop Still stinging until I wonder How I could be so alone

That was to be found later Inside my skin

Until subterranean I could Feel there will never be Another, never be a skin That touches mine before I Die

And I was dead until today When your card was found, Like a pale piece of Parchement that said "And I Look forward to the next Time we see each other.."

But we haven't for 14 years Now

You snuck up on me and I Lived for a second or two

Long enough to write this Poem

Long enough to read your Packaged Valentines' Greeting

Inside my love when we Said goodbye in a motel Room, and to this day I Remember your face,

Your leaving  face in your Car outside my room

We didn't make love that Last time 14  years ago, I Haven't since

I probably never shall

A shell

A distant visitor reading a Found card left on top of a Casket

Shaped like a man

Like a mirrored man

Who cried when he Bypassed all the flowers, all The condolences

And found a sinlge card Which ended with:

"Athough we may be apart, you are always in my heart always...Love you much,

Melynda"

I'm sending this card back To you

Wondering if your memory Is as good

And I shouldn't because 14 Years is a long time

But it was your card that

Made me so mad with love Again

That I have to try to remind You

To touch you

A most sad and tragic write.
I always look for the happy ending and this story is not finished.

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
