I have enjoyed feeling the rhythm of flow while slowly letting the visual aspects develop and take form. A quiet spot to meet our inner self or maybe a close friend , I can easily share the idea.
I love the flow to this and the scenery, I had to look up the word pirogue. As I was reading this, I kept thinking of all the roles we play in a day, parent, employee, short - order - cook , neighbor, and so on and so forth. But there are sides to us we focus on that may not all be perfect and rosy. We make room for that reflection, or invite it in as a guests, it keeps all the pieces of who we are together and well, that's life.
My Goodness! The imagery you portray is as sharp as ever. I can see everything clearly, even the slight haze, seen only from certain angles. I love this!!

I think you are beside yourself with this one. My only wish when out in the state park was to find a place to sit down like a fallen tree or a Cyprus knee. Unlike yours, there was none to be had… I had to keep walking or stop and stand. No rest for the wicked.
"The monotony and solitude of a quiet life stimulates the creative mind." Albert Einstein. Is your friend your muse or a person? I can envision both.
"I move some
to make room for Him"
This phrase speaks (to me) of some degree of respect, or a willingness (on your part) to make yourself more vulnerable. For me (personally) being able to sit with someone in total silence and still feel at ease is one of the signs of true friendship. r
Ditto what Odin eloquently wrote below. This is what I have been thinking all along. Your rough edges makes things smooth. Keep at it, my friend and you will leave behind in your wake your soul.
You have blended a mystique with your brush again, great writer! You have created a 'calm' with your word play. This write stands out from a lot of your poems. Bravo!
Jerry, what's progressively impressive with your writing, at least to this perpetual student of writing, is the advances you are making with expressions that transcend the mediocrity of thinking-within-the-Hallmark-mode so prevalent in far too much word-slop masquerading as poetry, not only on this site, but even more apparent in All Poetry.com. Your reach is palpable, your need to express is transcending the lessor accomplishments of the past, and because of that, you're providing much more food for thought, that ineffable value those of us seeking to write more impactful prose, poetry, prosetry et al. long for and strive to accomplish. Your writing of recent months is evidence of a true student of life, and along with me and a few on this site, create a connection that is both uplifting and impactful for bettering our lives. Kudos, Jerry. Love to read your progress.
