look here is the thing God did his magic act least it seems to me like magic in seven day made the old earth and all its inhabitants
He did create all earth and space
majestic mountains beautiful rippling streams arid deserts oasis' for the weary forest for the oxygen we breathe He pondered this and thought
no one to share all of this air
well, that won't do he musta thought I'm God can't leave things undone need someone to appreciate all the beauty animals are too dumb
so he made man because he can
musta grinned a mischievous grin when he ripped out one of Adam's ribs presto Eve showed up sharing paradise
He said don't eat forbidden treat
think about it two grown people without a history of obeying he told not to taste the forbidden so what'd they do they pigged out
oh, Eve went first
then both were cursed
Like I try to live... everyone to their own opinions. Here, with a satirical bent, you satisfied both the believer and non-believer. How to ride that fine razor sharp edge and survive the multiple perceptions is what makes for listenable and readable comment. Food for thought without an inkling of the holier than though position many others might attempt. Liked this one, Jerry. A lot.
I do side with Richard Cederberg. I totally believe without a doubt in the Almighty God. The Bible uses a lot of symbolism and metaphor and to be honest, it’s hard to just understand it. You need to dig deeper for most scriptures to unravel. Thanks for sharing Jerry.
I read that story somewhere before. The mere fact that we can't seem to stay away from what is forbidden is what keeps everyone coming back to drink from that book of Genesis one more time like they can't help it. A real addiction. Can't see the hypocrisy in the creator creating the imperfection for amusement.
This interpretation is so "the word of Jerry Bolton"! As you know my mother had a lot of the "old ways" about her yet my father was a staunch Evangelical. Mine is my own as well. See? (What was there before religion?)!!!
A bit satirical. Made me chuckle. Many people struggle with the Adam and Eve account. I never have. I understood it early on. Perhaps what people think of as fruit - an apple orange mango pear etc. - was not fruit at all. Maybe eating the forbidden fruit (that outrageously horrid thing they did that banished them from the garden, and brought a curse on the Earth) was them being coerced into having a sexual encounter with a fallen angel. Perhaps this heinous act was a harbinger to Genesis 6. r
