Looking back at the child in me nappy hair and ashy legs and I am beautiful... I did not see it at the time Why did no one tell me, of natural beauty retrospective, now I find allureing style in hair that could stand all on it's own pony tail tipped with plastic barrette hair now fly's in the wind, swaying to a new style my dread locks to my hips feeling them brush my back as I glide nappy yes, but in the style of my forefathers proud and pride in that women child in me no longer seeking to hide in plain sight there are shells now in place of barrettes for the women child in me still keeps her mistique and allureing ways
