from a time of great pain and sorrow.. but a truth... one that should never denied... but learned from

head bent low <cha chink> back bent in abject dejection
sound of a whistle in the air <cha chink> daring not to look up
slow movement of feet <cha chink> raw ankles that stink
putrid smell from below <cha chink> wrist bound tight
aching  to break free <cha chink> up the platform they go

Do I hear a bid <cha chink> for this  comely wench
come girl lift your head <cha chink> bare your breast
she is a fine breeder <cha chink> bore five youngun"s
she is sound of tooth <cha chink> very strong bones
come on now do I hear a bid <cha chink> I will not let her go low
one fifty you say <cha chink> do i hear Two, come on two
that's two to the man in back <cha chink> do I hear three
I got two, two, two <cha chink> Going, Going, Gone
to the man in the back in black<cha chink> in the white hat
the Auctioneer calls  <cha chink> send up the next black
<cha chink, cha chink, cha chink> <cha chink> <cha chink>
the chains go as she descends to her new hell below

Emotive imagery, of a terrible blot on history, unfortunately still going on in certain countries. (Second line of second verse, check spelling of last word, you missed an 'r') Jackie <> <

Aw . . . click . . . the chains have been broken and the slaves have been freed to play professional basket ball for millions of dollars, and everywhere in America the black middle class is surging and even surpassing whites in wages so yes, like the holocaust, never forget but there is also a word for continually harping. Overkill. I don't put you in this category however.
