Golden sky, do you awake from sleep you have open your gold eyes or did you just blink morning or evening, will you not tell orange sherbet cotton candy clouds, sweet to the eye echo down on tops or rust colored mountains like a shield of a gladiator's burnishes shine hiding paths of water color washed out browns tops of trees reaching out to the sunrise or set like cathedral spirals paying homage tipped with the hazy mist of purple grapes and deep cobalt blue at far off horizon leading down to soft green valleys below reflected back light of lime on evergreens touches of persimmon making eyes pucker brilliant black forest here in my foreground so lush and thick you cast not a shadow there swallowing me up in your binding inky pitch
