There was a time when I used to
Loathe tea-parties,
Organized by housewives who
Had nothing better to do,
Than to sit around with chit chat,
Saving the world from this and that,
Sipping their spot of tea
In posh English fashion,
With a drop of milk.
How I had vowed never to stoop so low,
As to be air-headed and all,
And yet I have become enlightened,
And discovered the very vitality of it,
The necessity to take a break
From life's fast lane,
For a spot of tea
In posh English fashion,
With a drop of milk.
My wife and I share tea time every aftrnoon at 3 p.m. I don't remember why, but maybe it was because our grand-daughter was picked up each day at that time, and we both needed a collective "whew"! She was about five at that time. Thanks, Esra.

It's wonderful, the spot of tea, to relax the mind and body. Great poem, a joy to read.
**Smile**... A pause for a spot of tea... be it for the mind or the body... is, sometimes, very needed... and there is no emptiness about that. Posh or just serene fashion, drop of milk or drop of honey. Simply lovely, this thought in poem.
