I needed you for me to feel whole and complete You needed me to be your shining white knight I needed you with every breath and heartbeat You used me to fight your demons of the night I needed you to share my homestead retreat You used me to calm your feelings of fright I needed your love to be enduring as concrete You used me to make everything all right I needed you to stand on your own two feet You used me to relieve you of your plight I never expected that you’d lie and cheat You expected me to give up without a fight I now live with your memories bittersweet And you now have to live with that parasite!
hmmm it seems that I wrote a kind of flip-side to this poem several years ago titled Prisoner of Love. Mine was not written from my own life, simply one of those that came to me one day. I will post it on your board so I don't leave my work here upon your site. I can taste the bittersweetness of this, Steven...and feel the heartache that comes with the understanding that it was doomed from the first and never meant to be.
Take care,
Sherry

Ooooo..I can really FEEL this..exceptional piece..
Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
