Each of us has to make choices
To live we have to travel a road
To be travel we must be free
And be able to lighten our load
For the burdens of life are many
They accumulate to weigh us down
Our burdens we must always shed
Too many and we will surely drown
We must each be our own person
Living free is our highest destiny
Using talents to lighten our load
And traveling happy to eternity
Like Irish poets everywhere
Like Blake, Shaw and Yeats
I write songs without music
And follow the muse’s dictates
You may chose to take any road
They are all one big gamble
But the road of rhyme and verse
The green road is where I’ll amble.
