The world closes in and I have to escape
There is a place I go before I lose control
Cause I have to get my mind in shape
Getting away is good for me and my soul
The place I escape to isn’t a big secret
I shut out the noise and slowly retreat
Inside my mind where it is very quiet
And take a walk down memory street
As the cathartic reflections envelop me
I feel the toils and troubles slowly ebb
Until all the bats are out of the belfry
And my mind is free of the cobwebs
The world becomes much clearer then
And I am able to focus on the future
And walk again among my fellowmen
Seeking to find tomorrow’s adventure
