Lights in the Northern Skies

Demons playing in the frigid arctic sky
Their visible purple and red laughter
Careening way above where the birds fly
Resonating high above the Earth’s ether

Mountains of moving darting lights
As they engage in jousts with Aurora
Over who will have dominion of the nights
Yellows, greens and reds of the aura

Play across the blackness of the night
Charged gases streaking through space
Carry Sol’s fury and show us his might
As he puts the demons in their place

We gaze at the heavens in wondrous awe
As these Titans do battle far above us
Flexing their power above the thaw
In the show we call Aurora Borealis
