This was written in November 2003 in Iraq. It is actually the third song in an odd series about my wife.

I close my eyes
Just to dream awhile;
Pretend there is no one around.
Just to find a place
I can get away
From these things that
I cannot hide.

These days well they fade away
Like you.
As I try to find
Something I can do.
Just to pass the time
That I'm away.
As it seems to take
Forever and a day.
I just want to be
Back with you.
I can see everything
Start to drift away from me.
When I just need something more
To feel than this.

A million miles away from home
That's all this is.
I can feel everytime
You scream.
I know you need me
As I need you.
But this too shall pass
In a blink that is
Our life.
I can still feel it all
Start to fade away.
I just need this time
With you if just today.

I close my eyes
Just to dream awhile.
Pretend that there is
No one around.
Just to find a place
I can get away
From these things
Because I...
Cannot hide.
