Two Beacons

I grew up in a village on Lake Erie. I loved the fog horns in the morning and the light from the lighthouse at night.

Mother stands like a lighthouse
Beacons reach her dear children
If perchance they should stray or
Get lost in fog's mist

Yes she shines as she beckons
They know that her safe harbor
Can be reached once they spot her
They approach with such bliss

Sure she welcomes them warmly
As a lighthouse her ships does
They can feel love light shine from
Her heart oh so bright

When the storm of life rolls back
When safe sailing is offered
On the bright moon lit waters
They set off out of sight
