She's putting on her coat of white
All shimmery and spark'ling bright
I put my black coat on tonight
Along with boots and hat

Her blanket lay untouched as yet
Not even one footprint was set
The crunch beneath my feet was met
By silence pure at that

I thought then as I looked about
Who would ere hear me should I shout
To rid my mind of fear and doubt
But silence I did keep

The trees became cathedral wall
All white now from the soft snowfall
Her moon and stars held me enthrall
A ceiling oh so steep

A spiritual experience
Accompanied by elegance
Walking back home not knowing whence
I'd really been this eve

I took my black coat off tonight
She still has on her coat so white
All shimmery and spark'ling bright
Say I that I believe
