Gypsy Moth and Butterfly

While walking today, I came upon a Gypsy moth and a butterfly on my rose bush.

Gypsy moth and butterfly
Made a bet 'bout who could fly
The highest
In the sky
One sunny day

Gypsy moth and butterfly
Started circling towards the sky
Sun did shine
They both knew
Russian roulette

Gypsy moth and butterfly
Grew so tired their wings got dry
Started down
Landed in
Some nice cool hay

Gypsy moth and butterfly
Knew that someday they would try
It again
Secret smile
Quick! Look away.

I loved this poem. Why? I just love nature. We don't observe it often enough do we? It's time we do.

The littlest thing can bring out the poet in you. And that's the way I like it.
