She thought she had quieted the demon of the Marsh. She thought it was over. Is it? Who is the "man dressed in black"?

Poem Artwork

Fog on the Marsh
Parts
When She comes through
Hearts
Once full of love

Somewhere It lies
Dead
If It can die
Dread
Hearing the moan

Fog thickens so
Leave
Can't find her way
Please
Let It be still

Red velvet gown
Full
Briars and thorns
Pull
Pulling her back

On Marsh's edge
Stands
Man dressed in black
Hands
Seeing her plight

STAY AWAY FROM THE FOG AND THE MARSH. I MEAN, WHY ONE DOES INSIST ON HURTING THEMSELVES THAT WAY? I KNOW YOU CAN'T HELP WHERE DREAMS TAKE YOU AND A HEART ONLY LOVES LIKE THAT ONCE BUT...IT'S TOO MUCH PAIN THERE, LET IT GO! REACH FOR THE HANDS, THE NAIL SCARRED HANDS...THEY'RE YOUR RESCUE! THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Most of my clothes are black but I am not the man in the misty marsh. Mysterious and engaging, Jane. Love and best wishes to you,

Regis

I'm guessing he's a boy named Sue. Yoohoo!

Could that "Man in black" be the ghost of Johnny Cash?

A bold attempt at innovative rhythm, lines, and pacing, not to mention the parallelism. It works well and I like it, Jane. Well done. As for the idea, what poet doesn't like to play around with the idea of fog, the mystery woman, the man dressed in black. You give it a nice touch. As for Jerry's comment below, I am not so sure. I think the "wet kiss" would surely freeze. John

Oh no! That "man dressed in black."

What will she do to evade what seems to be her fate?

She will do what she always does.

Use her mind. Project her body. When his eyes are occupied.

Clobber him with a tree root!

Either that or plant a hot, wet kiss upon his thin, cold lips.
