The grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence!

He walked along the path forlorn Clothes dirty and from thorns were torn The ground made up of clay so dry Cracks made by searing sun in sky He chanced upon a rock and sat Sweat pouring from beneath straw hat Using his sleeve to wipe away Finding himself so lost this day Continued he the path walking A vulture soaring and stalking Steps slowing to a turtle's pace Surprising smile upon his face Ahead his eyes beheld a flow'r Along a stream this saving hour At bottom of a gentle slope Never had he given up hope The water from the stream drank he Turning around spotting a tree Lied down and slept enjoying shade Later his way along path made Finding his home as evening fell Never again to say farewell To what he thought not up to par He laughed a laugh heard from afar Jane Noponen Perinacci �

Great write some people have it all, some nothing at all, some people lose loved ones more than others, by death, and i'm lucky, I've not lost so many relatives and friends as some other families.

I love this walk along survival's fateful path. Some people have good fortune and drink well from the goodness of life, others are faced with desolation every turn they take. At least this time in this poem, it turned out okay.

Just brilliant. I loved this, Jane, seriously and without exaggeration. You touched a cord in me with this one, perhaps because I have been so long "on the road". And yes, I have laid down for a while and "drank the water from the stream."
