It's not "writer's block", it's "pause while mind refreshes".

Poem Artwork

If you find my muse
Please bring it back
Took my thoughts and went
Right down the track

Engine smoke and sounds
Of yesterday
Choo choo wheels went right
On down the way

Muse bring back new stuff
New energy
Let's have fun, muse
We're wild and free

Poet smiles and walks
Home sits to write
Writes 'bout some train went
Through town that night

Toot, toot down the track. For the muse you do not lack. Clickety clack, clickety clack.

There are certainly a great little song here somewhere.

My muse tends to me a bit "flighty" as well; but I always take her back and love her. Nicely expressed, Jane. Love and best wishes,

I DON'T BELIEVE A MUSE EVER GOES AWAY.I BELIEVE IT'S JUST SAYING...WAIT. SO, WHATEVER A POET DECIDES TO WRITE ABOUT, EVEN IF IT'S ABOUT A LOST MUSE...IT COMES WITH A MESSAGE AND IT COMES RIGHT...NEVER A WASTE OF TIME OR EFFORT. THANKS FOR SHARING, JANE. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Ah, the beloved Muse. She gets on the train and we wonder whether she will ever come back. How we love it when she arrives. Love this cool, understated poem. John

Hello Jane, it doesn't appear that your muse has gone very far, but I definitely understand how "bare" it feel can when ones Muse takes a holiday.
Thank you for giving us a lighthearted perspective on a very important topic, and continued good luck to you.

Sometimes my muse,
will just up and go away,
leaving me with nothing,
to write or say.

When this happens to me,
I get thrown off track,
And panic sets in ,
until it comes back.
