My mother was right.

Poem Artwork

"When they're small
They step on your toes.
When they're big
They step on your heart."

A voice calls
It's Mom! "I miss you
You were right
Sorry for my part"

You left me perplexed, confused. But then, I never was mother…

Is this autobiographical, Jane? I taught from sixth grade to first year of college, but I don't have any ruggers of my own. I do have a godson who just got married.

That's the way with kids. Up and down, in and out. They are all over the place with their affections. Detachment is the key. Remember that poem of mine.

Do you remember Capt. Penny? You can some of the people some of the time. You can fool some people all of the time, but you can't fool mom.

Mom's can be right big time. Like in this case. Sometimes it takes us years and years to understand mom's wisdom.

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
