Some time ago, I wrote a "Lady In Red" few poems starting with, "Black Cadillac". Has it come back?

Poem Artwork

Hello again how did you make it up
The hill crawling on your slimy
Belly it's a wonder you were not
Seen and shot how dare you come to my Door again?

The Marsh has come alive again
Its pulse is felt up on the hill
Until the sound is quieted
By Springtime's foilage
Holds it still

Eyes glowing red sword handy by her side
Between eyes so sick and yellow
Again it is wounded mortally
Sliding back down the ledge go it bye
Shriveling

A storm comes off the Lake again
Thunder and lightning pouring rain
Said something seen down by the Marsh
Cleanse once again the
Unclean pain

It comes on its belly with glowing eyes, and it serves an unclean pain. Can your words be alluding to the snake from Adam and Eve's garden? It returns to us when least expected.

Wonderful! Human beings are experts at moving past pain to survival, however, it only takes a split second to bring back uncomfortable memories once locked away in the chambers of one's heart. It can be a smell, a touch... a pain...

Yes, very spooky and familiar!

Wishing you an abundance of creativity, sweet Poet!

With respect and smiles,

I love those last two lines, Jane.
As the storm return gotta watch
the marsh for that unclean pain; yes!

Kind of a foggy tale that is full of wonder. I'm still wondering but in case you did not see it. I would recommend the movie, "I Can Only Imagine" while it's still in the theatre. It's the best one I have seen in over 10 years. Love, Blessings, and Cheers!

You stand ready with sword to drive this slimy bellied monster back to the marsh where it belongs. Might I venture an allegory for a recurring illness like hepatitis C? Shingles?

Kind of creepy and full of suspense for the reader.Could it be Solomon Grundy?

Indeed as Odin said, the mystery prevails although the scene is set by that "living marsh". I'll take the desert any day. At least, it's dry even if it has its own phantoms.

A huge departure from your usual choice of subject matter and a good departure it is. Mystery prevails. One is struck with not really knowing the first person narrative's identity or the threat. For me, the threat could be a man, a snake, a primordial fear, et al. Well done. Thoroughly enjoyed the word play and especially the last line which suspends our wondering even further.
