You got me with those fishnet covered thighs. Very seductive. But I find that lap dancing scene very sad with a lot of losers trying to find love and happiness a dollar at a time slipped in a garter and then gone.

As you so poignantly point out, a woman can sacrifice her youthful beauty on a hard-core job like this and pay her way to something much better. All I can say is, "Go girl!"

There's much depth and a dose of reality in this poem. Although some women get off on this, for to many it's easy money but degrading work. It also proves what people will do for money. Well done. Now how about one that deals with the guys who dance for the ladies. (shades of the full monty)

This really is a fine poem. The fifth line of each stanza brings it all back to reality. Also, reflective of a stage of passing through that is worth passing by, then passing away.

Yes, there are some very like that. Was involved in a documentary about just such a person. As I sadly found out, most of such ambitious longings rarely make it off the pole.
