Driftwood

One is able to shake off the bad and don the new!

Poem Artwork

Such a wind that blows this evening
Holding evil in its grip
While its blood shot eyes scour beauty
Drool is dripping down its lip

Ice its feelings as its blowing
Mindful of the moons pull strong
Turns the tide the wind falls slashing
Waves on rocks dashed all night long

Tired the wind next morning calmness
Sun shone gently on the shore
Found some driftwood drool smeared on it
Sun bleached painted by the door

Friends who enter see this driftwood
Painted gleeful colors it
Spirit free from tossing waters
Holding tightly its secret

I love driftwood, it can be made into so many new things & shapes, never realizing from whence it came or anything about its past life,

Driftwood can be so beautiful in its battered, dried-up way with so much symbolic imagery to be found here at the heart of your lovely poem.

I have ever been the driftwood and you have stated its life perfectly. although I would not look good in a coating of many bright colors, i'll bet yours is as wonderful as your write.

I thought at first you were creating our movie. But then you found words from a slime that you saw on a driftwood. You painted the driftwood many colors. How sublime.

At times, I feel like driftwood being carried this way and that. But every now and and then, I get painted in gleeful colors, and life begins anew. Loved the poem.
