I really do have a dead bouquet of red roses on my old piano.

Poem Artwork

Baby Grand in the parlor
White candles on each end
Bouquet of roses red ones
River boat 'round the bend

She in her white gown smiling
He wrote a song for her
Ebony and the ivory
He'd make her dear heart stir

Years passed still she stands gazing
Dead roses in her hands
Two melted candles still there
But she still heard her man

The song he wrote he sings still
Though she's the only one
Who hears wearing her white gown
Watches the setting sun

This one has a very sad tone. A short video accompanying it with blended scenes for each line, would probably draw a lot of viewers.

There's a certain appeal about a bouquet of dead rose hanging around, smelling up the place.

THE ROSES MAY HAVE DIED BUT, OBVIOUSLY, THE LOVE IS STILL VERY MUCH ALIVE! ENJOYED, JANE, AND THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE HIS+INSPIRATIONS

The picture and your words lend an air of long ago to this touching poem of lost love. Somehow it makes me feel her longing for what is no more. Now I know you have a deep romantic core.

Love ya,
Connie

Jane...

Chivalry ... Courtly Love ... Loving Nobly !

Ah, the bitter sweetness of Lost Love !

A beautiful and nostalgic love poem !
Superbly penned, my Dear !

I have just one dead red rose in a stemware vase,
sitting on my kitchen table. A mother of a dear niece
just passed a few weeks ago. The dried up rose is almost
black now, but the warm memory of Rita and that original
Red Rose lingers to infinity ❤️🌹❤️

Romantic and touching,
with a sadness that burns.
I think those dead roses are better,
than ashes in an urn.

You really pull the romantic heart strings on this one, Jane. Some lovely phrasing throughout and sweet images. Excellent.

Beautiful poem Jane, sad, but very romantic. I am sure a lot of dead and dried roses are being kept for a reason. Love it!
