Creepy! I enjoy aabb rhyme scheme and use it often myself. It makes the poem flow well, I think. Your rhyming is spot on and your poem a combination of chills and smiles. Nicely done!

Where do visions come from?

That become imbedded in your mind.

Release them soon as possible

Let their freedom bring you peace.

Who can say they are spooky? Not I

For in me they were born

I can harbor them or set them free.

We have the choice of our salvation

The wise know this and pray.

Let no poor soul dismiss the obvious,

For it is in his salvation to accept or reject

That which is sent by the tempter.

Effectively creepy and eerie! Your title reminded me of a poem that I wrote some twenty years ago...

The Tree 📝📝📝 � Regis Auffray

A giant
by the water�s edge
forever it seemed
had stood tall and proud

Birds nested in its thick hair
and slept the nights
along its mighty arms

Creatures of field and forest
rested in its bosom
and sheltered there from the storms

Fish shadow-bathed
in its silhouette
hiding from the sun
as the river sang on its way to the sea

The man came and cut down the tree

Sap ran like blood to the earth

The man sat on the stump of the giant
The man laughed

The birds and the fish
vanished
along with the creatures
from field and forest

The river wept
