A challenge for the mind

to see one's self from within

follow along

with your mind's eye closed

to see your reflection without a mirror

Drive upon a road

one you have never travelled before

far, far away

from any city or town

to unsettled land

When you reach a place

where you can no longer see but three signs of man

Your Car

and The Road

Pull over

step out of the car

and begin to walk

until even the car

has vanished from sight

Now you are here

alone with the road

What do you see?

What do you hear?

What can you feel?

Is the road straight

stretching ever on

to a horizon you have not breeched?

Or, does it bend?

and where does that lead?

Is it silent here?

The rustling of a breeze

or the song of a bird perhaps?

Or, is there still noise

coming from within?

Can you feel the road beneath your feet?

Perhaps the warmth of the sun,

or is it even shining there?

Focus...

or do you really feel nothing at all?

An imaginary journey

to a real place

deep within your mind.
