We waft on a breeze in the velvety darkness
Your arms wrapped possessively around me
Innocent and new, I am learning, experiencing
Life in the dark recesses of the night realm

Below us an alley cloaked in shadows
Landing on ballerina toe, the lesson begins
Shielded in a mantle of darkness the hunters waits
Ready to ambush the unaware, the next repast

Footsteps fall upon the pavement-tap tap tap
The bait, the lure, a defenseless young maid
Footsteps turn and come near-tap tap tap
Backing away, I feign fear, feign alarm

Darkness envelops me, he carelessly follows
One step, two steps, he presses on
A growl then the soft flutter of a cape
You hide me protectively in its folds.

Reaching into the blackness, the man searches
Touches, tightens his hand around an arm
Muscles ripple, it's the wrong arm
Too late the trap is sprung.

You attack, silently, swiftly as I watch dazed
A gleam of fangs, his neck is drawn
Nodding your head, the first bite is mine
