Lost Karen Hecht Springer October 31, 2014 How can you lose what you never had? Ah, naiveté, color of pink roses… I can still smell the freshness of the new I bask in the elixir of old memories’ perfume Looking back, in my mind’s eye There you are, the vision treasured The dream worn and thin Like a letter too often read When the road was carved before us Fate was laid at Life’s door Wide open Wide eyes Never shut
