“What is a friend? A single soul dwelling in two bodies.” - Aristotle

“I’m nobody! Are you - Nobody - too? Then there's a pair of us!” - Emily Dickinson

A Friendly Soul

I see you, over there -

Maybe you’re with me, but only in spirit.

Oh, I know everybody says there’s no ghosts -

A specter, a hoax, a trick of the mind

But I see a friend. I see a soul.

I see me, over there -

Maybe I’ll be kind, and turn off the voices.

Oh, I know everybody should love themselves -

A goddess, a temple, a sacred entity

But I lack a soul. I need a friend.

I hear the whisper, in the darkness.

You don’t have to talk to me.

Just know that I am there.

I see a friend. I see a soul.

A friend is a friend regardless of source or goal. But one must be wary of a friend that would flee in a time of need rather than by you through it all.

Deeply thought-provoking verses expressing a universal theme that many would seem not to be aware of... ...or in denial of its existence. Love, peace, and best wishes to you, Karen...

Your muse may lack a soul, but you are soul all the way. And so inviting. Applause.

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!

Next Arrivals by Robin Ouzman Hislop

Robin Ouzman Hislop's poetry is certainly in dialogue with some of the key architects of the 'poetics of indeterminacy' – both the Modernist strands represented by the likes of Beckett and Stein, and the postmodernist strands represented, initially,
