A Prayer For You

I wish I had a song to sing
A poem to write
A lover's night
I 'd love to tell a tale for you
and fill your heart
with love so true
If I could give you anything
It would be hope
from a living spring
If I could send a message here
I would send a thousand cheers
I would place your heart on
velvet wings
Lift up your tears
to Angel's ears
I would be here
to catch your fall
to embrace your sorrow
today & tomorrow
If I were able
I would give you strength
To want to live
to let someone else give
But I am not powerful
it's not in my hands
to do these things
Only God can
So I pray to him
to give you peace
to bring you sunshine
in a world so dark
I hope for you to find true love
I pray this from within my heart
That you will find a little reason
to keep on living throughout the seasons
