Small affronts are given,
To show your disdain.
The quality of love is lost,
When to others we cause pain.
The absence of truth belies
The rumors that are spread.
Validity is so necessary,
Before a word is said.
Nay, as oft is the case,
We believe what is being said.
Matters not if it helps to destroy
A reputation, this is how gossip is spread.
