The plate was set before me,

As the aroma of cooking steak

Filled my nostrils and watered

My waiting mouth for such a delight.

Those Sunday afternoon meals

When I was a kid, were a gourmets delight.

Mom just had the gift for a delightful repast,

That it seems, no one else could match.

Nobody can match mom's cooking. Now I've gotta go and get something to eat.

A great memory. After church our noon "dinner" was often Mom's fried chicken to put the Colonel to shame. And, real chicken gravy that I've never tasted anywhere since. Steak remains my favorite food. Dad was always in charge of the Weber Grill in afternoons at the lake, broiling each of our chosen steaks to perfection. Those were the days. I still get steak often in small amounts on Sundays.

Can't anymore eat steak, I got the dentures but I can't get used to them, so if I were to eat it I would have to cut it up real small so my gums can suck out the taste...I don't remember my mom making steak, dad always said it was too expensive...-e-

Loving memories.
You know mother cooked steak
every Sunday. Dad was a butcher
so tasty steaks and other tasty
items were on the menu. hugs
