The first part of this poem, is written as a duet, or response poem, by Sandy Magle and Walter L. Jones

When the day is dark and lonely
And the night it fails to see
That is when you will come
and be
with me

Earth shadows entwine, thoughts sublime, journey to, swept through the trees beyond moon's beam leading

Jill comes to me out of a sweet dream
Dressed in rainbows so clean

I am here beside you in the shrouded mist of heaven's earth reflection and unseen

A deflection in a mirror gone
Edges of shadows that belong

I sing in solitude, rapacious harmony, love prayers, duets played in song

You know we are all chasing shadows and running from the same
Have the love lost fading fame

In darkest night, sultry candle light I softly whisper, waver in
hallo flame

A fire is burning on the page of night
A kiss in heart takes flight

Our lips so close, my hand so near, to touch your soul froze in fevered delight

Come in to the water the cool is fine
A dressing of youth counters for a time

We wash our souls, cleansed in years, replacing fears of lonely empty words in rhymes

Fires' placed warms skin and soul
Shadows edge out things we know

In saddened softness said we wish we never left from empty wanting arms to go

Comfort is the penalty of the wine fine
Live inside the realities of mind

You write songs, I sing passioned notes: loves' lost, gold rings tossed and wicked thoughts not so kind

Aggressive behavior leads
Loves last line

The fist is clenched in smashed regrets, inside the mind mad forces blind, pushing me aside

Lust is in the trust of places to hide
Riddle our spirits with white
Hats of finding
Never work out right

I hold your heart so close you feel me not, in sad repose I remain out of sight

You know we chase the shadows
Until we find that they have already
Caught us in the channels of
Our minds

Caught shadows intertwine, thoughts sublime, journey to, swept through trees beyond, seeking finds

Yesterday plays in vision rekindled as the wreath's belief hung on our door
Lovers' quest in feeling all the shadows left dancing on our floor

Our world lost in no answers
To keep living on is hard
Sang the giver and the dancer
Wrote the poet and the bard

Oh come to me darling, oh come to me this night, for the ghost of the past will always last, in the hearts that turned out, the light
