What corner do you seek
what sparkle do you find
is this a story true
or a thought left behind

Walking in the rain
I find you there
I see your shadow
on the structure
in the square

The failing light
of yesterdays dream
it is buried here
tortured left
unclaimed by your affairs

A country lost its way
directed by hate and shame
how many bodies stacked
out side your door
no one left to claim

Screaming culture left
to find its way
directed by powers
that do not understand
the rules of play

Your conquests of secret
take anything they can
they pick the rubble
trying to defile the man

Yet in the daylight
a nationalism strong
still there are a few
that praise and sing your song


Close the door of intrigue
kill the sprout
do not fertilize
do not allow the growth
of the seed

Passion continues
wants are ever there
man wants to help
people want to share
a culture in flames
