INDIGNATION

I rise from a long slumber and look around,
The sky is a sombre grey and darkness has obscured the ground,
Where God used to reign over the pristine beauty of nature and silence,
I hear poignant sounds and I see only hypocrisy, injustice and violence.

I see Man doing unto Man what not even a beast can ever do,
The exploitation and betrayal of Man by Man is unbelievable yet true ,
I regain my conscience and vow to fight the evil until I die,
But simmering in the fire of indignation I ask, "Who am I?"

I am an Earthquake, I am a raging Volcano,
I will shake and explode and I will plunge the exploiters into the inferno,
I am the Great Deluge,
I will leave no place for the heartless despots to take refuge.

I am a Tornado, I am a Cyclone,
I will tear to bits every sinner, who fails to atone,
I am the fiery desert Sun,
I will incinerate every tyrant and I will spare none.

I am the scourge of Plague, I am the tuberculosis stricken’s Contagious Breath,
I will breathe upon the hearts of the barbarians the mortal fear of death,
I am the Cataclysm,
I will destroy and obliterate the edifices of snobbery and chauvinism.

I am a Thunderbolt, I am the curse of the Gods,
I will cripple and render mute the usurpers and the frauds,
I am a Conflagration,
I will turn to ashes all those who profit by driving the poor into starvation.

I am the fearless Taimur, I am the ruthless Chenghiz,
I will rout the army of the oppressors with a merciless blitz,
I am in the land of plenty, the hungry man’s Agony,
I will reduce to ashes all those who perpetuate the world’s most bizarre irony.

I am Dynamite, I am the horrible Atom Bomb,
I will wipe out the arrogant plutocrats and destroy their aplomb,
I am ageless Time, I am endless Space,
Slavers beware! I will torment their souls in an eternal chase.

I am the club of Lord Vishnu, I am the mace of mighty Hanuman,
I will batter to death those hedonists whose activities are treacherous and inhuman,
I am the poison-tipped Arrow of a Jarwa warrior,
I will kill anybody who scoffs at my medieval ways and misprizes my friendly behaviour.

I am the Atlantic, I am the Pacific Ocean,
I will devour the kingdoms built on terror and hatred in one catastrophic inundation,
I am Lord Shiva’s proverbial Rage,
I will scorch every sadist and disfigure his visage.

I am the fabulous Dragon, I am the venomous Cobra,
I will spew fire and poison on the infidels and rob them of their impregnable aura,
I am the fathomless darkness of a Moonless Night,
Merchants of death, pause; I stand witness to all your crimes through my omnipresent sight!

Smarting under the weight of awareness I console myself,
Perhaps, I am not as lonely and helpless as I supposed myself,
After all, there’s no weapon more powerful and sharper than a rebellious idea,
Soon it shall spread like wildfire and one day the downtrodden shall conquer Utopia!
