I see Christmas different now
Though I once was a child
with wide eyes-
and counted all my presents
under trees put there by parents
The magic is still the same
though I now see the poor
in a different light-
with arms open for comfort
and wallets open for change
We all strive to be good
though our hearts sometime
cry for one another-
like homeless cry for homes
though they sit in shelters
I want to help more now
than before. When I had no
compassion or reasons-
to feel their pain
and walk their walk
I only wish a good Christmas
for those with nothing
as I have everything-
A family. A husband
and abounding love.
