A fascination with books.

In eager anticipation I turn the page.
What words of knowledge await me here.
The pages of the tome are yellowed with age.

On some day long past this was penned by a sage.
The written words bring the author near.

I cannot put it down I fear.

Whether it be rhymes or prose or obscure adage.
The written empathy I clearly hear.
