The large teeth and claws that I close my eyes and see,
When I lay in my bed, they all come after me,
I think for a minute I’m flying but I’m quickly approaching the ground,
Oh hell no, I’m falling, and I scream but there’s no sound,
I’m randomly held at gunpoint, or have a knife held at my throat,
The ship is sinking and water is all around me, but I’m going down with the boat,
I’m naked in front of the crowd and can’t find my clothes,
I’m on fire and I’m burning but it is like no one knows,
I can’t save my children; my husband is just out of reach of my hand,
Oh the nightmares torment me and I can’t understand,
They seem so real and vivid and I wake up shaking with sweat,
They are the ones I dread the most and the dreams I want to forget.
No one is the hero and no one has a hero as well,
They aren’t heavenly dreams. They are the ones from hell.
The death is more gruesome. The monsters are all real,
The wounds are wide open, and they will never heal,
The ghosts and witches and goblins all exist in this dream,
They all are flying around me and it’s not even Halloween.
Wake me up and hold me until I know everything is alright,
Save me from these nightmares that enter my mind at night.
