I hear people talking about 

wars and climate change 


And my prayer today is

to hear every person 

in the world

talking about 

how to feed 

our starving babies 

all over earth 


One country 

has twenty million 

homeless children 

who are born an die

on their streets 


Some cities have

begging children shot

so they dont scare away

customers of their shops


A starving baby 

has only 

you and I to care

if it lives or dies

only you and I


Children are our future

and their hungry

piercing screams 

echoing in the darkest nights

can be heard

by everyone on earth


I hear people talking about 

war and climate change 


And I pray today

to hear people

talking about 

how we can feed 

every starving baby 

on earth 


A hungry child

has only 

you and I 

to care if it lives or dies

only you and I


And our future lies

in each precious child

waiting for someone

to hear

their piercing screams

of hunger

in the cold

dark nights


I hear

do you?
