THE WINDOW

whitechapelwitch

She peeks through the curtain.

Of this I am certain,

she knows nothing of fear

as I draw myself near.

A smile is on her face

as I quicken my pace.

The window grows dark

but she left her mark.

I know which room she does live in.

It must be tidy as a pin.

Her dark eyes have beseeched me.

I know she will complete me.

I just have to summon the courage

before my heart goes back to storage.

We belong together as one.

I won’t stop until I have won.

I raise my hand to the door.

My tears are ready to pour.

I won’t step away.

I’ve come to here stay.

I like writing from photographs too, Facebook and Twitter
provide lots of inspiration. Tbe window has a nice
romantic appeal. Seems there is a lot about to
happen, a meeting that will lead to love and intimacy.

Thank you Susanne for your review of my poem ( Love and LIFE )
I like your poem ( The Window )It is hard to make each line rhythm
You may not want to have every line rhythm maybe every other line or
first and last line of verse. I am just saying this on the above poem
I will search your poems and read. I do love rhythmic poems,
that make music with the words. Yours had a nice story.

Thanks keep it up Darryl Ehlers

Window peeking to the nth degree. Certainly is compelling… Drawing one in to see what is behind that curtain, peeking out.

I'm so happy that you like my poem. It's strange that the poetry or prose that I labor hours on don't do as well. This poem I wrote in ten minutes. I saw the picture on Tumblr and wrote what I felt about it. It flowed out from somewhere inside me. I let it go to the pen. I have to find this place inside me. Maybe I should walk around with pen and paper, ready for inspiration to hit again.

Looking in, or looking out, your window poem is smooth as glass.

That photo reminds me of Pirate's Alley, a place where I lived for awhile in New Orleans.

The poem is dark in places, but overall courage won out I do believe. I know it would have won out if I were in that situation.

Bittersweet situation. I really enjoyed your perseverance as you raised your "hand to the door". Fine write!

Love ya!
