Poetry
· deep breaths.

· apathy takes me.

· long drives.

· nothing more.

· ode to growth.

· living in a dream.

· indecisive.

· that afternoon.

· music melts.

· blurry vision.

a change in perspective.

a canvas

that if left to me
would be lying in ruins
scars and scrapes
and blood flowing from the paint
but what if it was something else
bright colors
magnificent sights
pictures that move you to tears
or make the dimples in your cheeks appear
so don’t be so swift my love
when it comes to deciding the art you’ll create.

This poem begs an image. So I wonder if you could come up with an appropriate one and post it? Your poem also seems to be chiding someone for rushing their art. But I don't think that the muse when it appears allows one to stop and consider… Instead, there is a compelling thrust of creativity that must be let out or lost. Better to have created with it than to have it lost forever. I believe that some of the greatest art was made from momentary surges of energy that could not be stopped by anyone asking for restraint.

We're all a blank canvas when we're born, and I think I've been repainted more times than I can remember. But still, I'm ready for a new coat of paint. It covers up a multitude of sins.
