Boyfriends

Why can’t I be like all the other girls?

Why can’t I be pretty and have natural curls?

Why can’t I say what I want to say?

Why can I only dream from day to day?

When I go to parties I always feel shy

Try to rid my inhibitions, drink my host dry

Always ending up in a corner alone

Wishing I’d just stayed at home

When boys ask other girls for a dance

I never get a second glance

Monica always flirts with fellas

Fellas always flirt with Stella

Me? I exist by my tod

Lonely, wondering if I’m odd

Why can’t I have a steady fella like Pearl?

Why can’t I be like all the other girls?

oh my goodness that is so cute....it could be a song! My daughter listens to the Disney channel, with singers like Raven and Linsey Lohan, and this would be perfect for girls to listen to while they are entering that period of doubt before the blossom.

excellent!

Fantastic poem! Andrea, I know this isn't about you, I've seen your pic;-) but there are many who feel like this, and no matter what we say, they have to go through the hurt until they come to terms with it themselves....I always feel that beauty comes from within, and when you have enough of it inside it has to make a glow outside. that should be young peoples goal to be beautiful inside first.

Hi Adrea:

Are you describing me here when I was a teenager? Heeeheee!

Not only that, when I was a teenager, I had two best friends, we were always together like the 3 musketeers. We've always did things together; but one day my two best friends were invited to a party, but the host did not invite me. He had singled me out for not inviting me. The worst was that he pulled me to one side and said to me that he was sorry that he did not invite me, because there wasn't enough space in the party - as if I would take up a lot of space.

Anyway, after the party, all three of us have never talked to this guy again.

Anyway, so much for my life story, see how thought-provoking your poem is? Wonderful write.

Andrea, I hold on to the old saying that there is somebody for everybody somewhere in this world...
Fate will find you one day..and you will be the Spring rose that blossoms.
Hang in there Kid! You're doing just fine.

Being one's self is not a bad thing to be. I would bet most men and women have had similar feelings at one time in our lives. I know I did; and when I accepted me for who I was, I became quite happy eventually.

A question all young ones ask. The right one eventually comes along, noticing everything the other ones missed. Well done poem.

Who knows?

Your pain is so real and so is your honesty!

Be YOU and stay REAL.

Everything has a price - as we all know so well - but nothing can buy your openness and integrity - not even to stop being YOU!

Because you're not shallow, and these types never find mr right, or true soul love, only superficial...Going/joining places you're comfortable with, with people of the same ilk, and it will happen when least expected..

Always be yourself..

Your self image is out of kilter, and for no reason beaut...x
