Poem Artwork

Do I need this?

“I want my cup to runneth over”

He looked at her, agreed, poured the wine

DRIP DRIP…now she’s not sober

It was autumn, nearly October

Now she’s drunk and rolling in clover

“I feel my head’s about to explode”

He looked at her, agreed, grabbed the pills

RATTLE RATTLE…now she’s switched to overload

It was far from her rural abode

Now she’s staggering helplessly down the road

“I should have checked it out first”

He looked at her, agreed, grabbed the phone

RING RING…now she’s having an outburst

It was not necessary to quench her thirst

Now mother’s here…expect the worst…!!!

“I need this like a hole in the head”

He looked at her, agreed, pulled the trigger

BANG BANG…now she’s dead

It was something she’d said

Now she lies in her eternal bed

Oh my, Andrea! Such a tragic tale, yet told as life is in many
areas...cold, analytical, and cruel.
You do have a way with words, lady.
