Let Papillon Fly

Butterflies in my stomach

Confusion in my head

Gives a strange situation

Lying down in my bed

Breeze through the trees

Mist through the day

Gives a strange situation

To a perfect day

Alone in my dreams

I walk on air

But a strange situation

Is cold and bare

Outside I disguise my fear

And I’ve locked my heart

Gives a strange situation

A final start

Let me open up inside

To free the hurt

Give a strange situation

A red alert

Butterflies fly free

In the blue air

And the strange situation

Is no longer there

This is nice, and different. Papillion, I assume, is your muse?

Papillon returns to me less and less these days, but I have vivid memories of her anxious visits!

A great poem, thank you, Andrea.

"Let Papillon Fly" flows freely.

What makes a poet is not the number of pages written, but the number of souls inspired by her/his work.

I Salute You, Poet Andrea Hale!

You have inspired me. I like Your style.

Your imagery is great, a sad but well-written poem. And, thank you for commenting on my meager offerings. ~~BonnieQ
