I wrote this one day while thinking about what heaven really looked like.

Heavenly Thoughts


I’m lying here with heavenly thoughts in my head
To heaven I’ll go is what God has said
Up and away to the heavenly gates
And I don’t want to be running late

To walk the beautiful streets of gold
Watch the things of heaven unfold
To see the crystal lake so clear
What is that sound, is it music I hear?

Angels singing and praising the Lord
Michael standing there with his sword
Gabriel with his trumpet in hand
Destroying the earth and welcoming
A brand new land

Jewels of every color and shape
Are on this beautiful pearly gate
Peace surrounding me everywhere I go
In the anointed overflow

Tears and suffering can’t be found
Above this hard and earthly ground
Heaven is where I want to dwell
Not in the fiery pits of hell

With my God and Jesus above
The Holy Ghost with all his love
This is where my heavenly thoughts take me
To another world where Jesus saves me
