Got wars on T.V.,
Talking heads report to me.
Got politicians rebuking heaven,
Don’t pray here, news at 11.
Got a man who roams our streets,
Stealing lives, leaving dead heartbeats.
Not to sure about the air,
Raise your glasses to the ozone layer.
People crammed into Saltine houses
Beating their problems out of spouses.
Infants left in garbage cans,
Life is good, pass the Spam.
Three-year-olds locked in cars
While Daddies camp at the local bar.
Oh say can you see
What this nation has come to be?
But this is still the greatest place,
And young people are dying for its grace
In a desert on foreign soil
That is choked with hatred for our toils.
Our soldiers do as they are told
So don’t blame them for being so bold
As to lay down their lives for our ideals,
The reasons may be abstract, but their
Bravery is real.

We should respect the soldiers rights too, and the majority of them
take pride in fighting a cause they believe to be just. We can differ about it, but they have earned the right to our support and respect!
