......

Light out beyond what we think we understand,

Our self-created complexities that seek to define us

Even as we seek to define ourselves in a world that

Holds more questions than answers.

To do so I must first look within, seeking a place

That few have dared to go, in thoughts that crawl

Like bloated spiders across tangled webs of memory

As they spin thick cocoons in darkened places.

I must trace these webs to the heart of what I am,

Open what memories that I can find there, cut loose

Those that would poison me, find the queen that spun them

And smite her down to the past from whence she came.

In a world that holds more questions than answers, I must seek

An inner light, the fundamental presence of He who created

Me, before life left its mark and I slammed the door on my heart,

Creating a darkness of tangled, self-created complexities.

Most profound, George; especially love your last stanza and its wisdom.

Spiders......yuck!!!!! I love the comparisons made here though. Sometimes we weave our own webs and sometimes others weave them for us. This is VERY good son. When we start to break the chains of others webs, we start to grow. You are very tall today.
Love,
Mom
