Sometimes I get this way, but it passes.

Emotions well up inside, seeking a way to define

Themselves in the light of speech, trapped far

Too long in a darkness of isolation, caught in

My throat like a piece shattered glass that

Has been carved from unshed tears.

There is a fence around my heart, lined with

Barbed wire regrets of my own design, a fence

Made of rancid dreams lodged deep within the

Perimeters of four empty rooms, chambers lined with

Crimson beatings like the ticking of a treacherous clock.

So I write what cannot be spoken, in words that fall

Short beneath the gravity of a whirlwind abyss called

The human soul, never quite reaching the heart of what

I long to say, but only striving to find that elusive light of

An outside world from within a secret heart.

A key for an unseen lock.

END

Inspirational, George. The first stanza is especially powerful and unique; its images will live on in my mind, thank you. A great way of saying you "don't know how to say..."! Kate x No inadequacies here, I think!

I really like alot of the idea's you came out with this here one George, the metaphore of the soul being whirlwind, or currently in that state was quite cool, and the key and lock I enjoyed too, ty Al
