......

I stand on the brink of sorrow

With no idea what words will

Form as I strive to keep my

Balance there, my thoughts

Unknown to me but guided

By hands that dance to a

Different tune, the music of

Self-propulsion, they map the

Boundaries of my limitations

By striking keys, giving substance

To the nature of who I am this day

And my eyes follow the waypoints

Laid out before these sentient scribes,

Looking for a means to turn away

From that blackened, tear-stained fall.

I think we all often stand on that brink, George, and you describe it very well.

Our inspirations come from many directions, and what we write are of our own true feelings. Wonderful job!

I ofen write while standing on the edge of a cliff with one foot over the edge. It makes for great poetry as you prove here. :)

You write with such clarity of thought George!
impressive how you can so perfectly coney a mood!
I get so frustrated when my dark side takes control
because sometimes I can't do a thing about it
as strong willed as I am, it seems to just take over
and I often wonder how that happens when I know I have
the spirit to overcome. It's a conundrum;-)
