Today is my birthday

Yikes how can that be!

66 already how 

could that happen to me

Hair isn't brown 

and my singing not as good

and I don't walk

as fast as I should

Yet thinking back

I  have learned a great deal

about life and myself

How good I feel!

I feel as though

I am just beginning

Using what I have learned

to keep my light of love shinning

Laughing at myself

at the silly plans in the past

Forgetting what was real

and the important plans that last

Like loving forgiving 

and living each day

with thanks and gratitude

trying to follow God's way

May this part of my life

add some hope and care

May the light of God

somehow shine and be shared
